Elfriede Smith Obituary

Elfriede Smith MT. PLEASANT - Elfriede Maria Reisinger Dinger Smith of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Mrs. Smith was born in Munich, Germany, June 15,1927, and came to the United States in 1952. She was a naturalized US citizen and very proud of being an American. Mrs. Smith's working career was spent in the Navy Resale System in Virginia, California, Maryland and South Carolina. Mrs. Smith is survived by a sister, Gerda Tretter, in Munich, her daughter, Jo Anne Jacobs, son-in-law, James Jacobs, two grandchildren, Jason and Sarah Jacobs, and one great-grandchild, Maggie June Jacobs Gilbert, all of Charleston. A private graveside service will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. Arrangements by JAMES A. McALISTER Funerals and Cremation, 1620 Savannah Hwy, Charleston, SC. 843-766-1365. Mrs. Smith will be missed alot. I will miss her giving out candy to the workers at the doctors office. I will keep your family in my prayers.
