Remembering Dick Trickle today and all he meant to the sport of racing but, more importantly, all he meant to all of you ... his family. I lost a son named Chad age 18 in September 2009 in a car accident. There is so much pain in the world and while we can't fix that we can remember a wonderful man who gave us many moments in life to cheer about.

when I was a kid I got to sit in Trickles #99 at Madison International Speedway here in Madison, what a great legacy with many short track wins. We miss you Dick.

My sister and I LOVED Dick Trickle growing up. Heck how could you not, he was great and best of all, he drove a purple mustang! I remember our purple dick trickle racing jackets we wore on Friday nights to Elko Speedway. Then when I was in jr high I got my picture taken of me in the white knight SA car. I was sitting inside and Dick was squatting next to me on the outside. How excited we were when he was driving with the big boys!! Rest in Peace Mr. Trickle! My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. You are and always will be my favorite driver!

To the Dick Trickle family: I was so saddened to hear of dicks passing. I was dicks UPS driver for many years, delivering a lot of his race car parts. I have a few funny stories about dick but and I'll have those memories for along time. My prayers are with you Darlene and your family. Going miss that guy.

My heart is shattered. Dick was the first race car driver I met and I became an instant fan. Always welcomed me with open arms and a BIG hug! He just was great to be around! He will always be in my heart. And I know he's up there with some great guys discussing how to start a new track in heaven! May God bless and give strength and faith to his family and all who knew this great man.

Dick, you were my favorite driver and always will be. I remember the time I finally got to meet you in person. I could barely form words standing next to one of racings greatest drivers. My family and I enjoyed many a nite at Sam's Capital Speedway watching Dick kick butt. Fun and exciting times that made me a race fan for life. I still tell stories of Dick's winning ways. I will miss him greatly.

My heart is filled with sadness. Dick Trickle was an icon in racing, and a friend to everyone! I grew up watching and following him, and I remember after one of his wins, getting a kiss on my cheek! Years later, he held my one year old son in his arms as I took a photo of them. I am so sorry that he was hurting so badly. My heart goes out to his family. What an awful way to lose your loved one.

I have know and see ole dick run the old the white knight the fire chicken all over the mid west for the 1974 to the 1990's i did not like him at all on the track when he win over my driver the late joe shear but i have to say this about the racing in the mid west in the 1960 to about in 2000's racing was the best in the usa joe, dick, tom, dave, and all the drivers of the time it was the bast we all love the racing of the time we ahev hope dick family is bless and joe family too

he was a man who obviously enjoyed life and racing ...my thoughts and prayers to his family...thank you for sharing him with us...he spent a few minutes with my son at dover back in 1991 and that meant the world to him...he still talks about that chance meeting to this day...

I remember the times that the white hauler with the purple Mustang would come rolling into Elko Speedway... everyone else those nights would be racing for second place. Rest in peace Dick.

Joe Shear, now Dick Trickle. My family would travel tthe short track circuit just to watch those two put on a show. A lot of the NASCAR stars today wouldn't be where they are now if it wasn't for Dick Trickle. Competition for short track racing in Wisconsin is second to none. Dick was the hardest working, most determined record breaking, winning driver that designed and built his own car. He didn't need the bump and run to win and was extremely fan friendly.

Dick! What a blast I had when I worked in the circuit. Rusty Wallace was my driver therefore, I KNEW how important you were. He never stopped telling people how much you helped him. You were so much fun but always a gentleman. You loved to hit up a Waffle House at 3am, the night b4 a race. You were kind to me and to my friends and to everyone. I loved u then, I love you now and I will love you forever. My favorite people are in photographs in my room. A picture of you and me will remain in my room!

My sincerest sympathies to his family. I watched him on the short tracks at Wisconsin Dells, West Salem (WI) and Oregon (WI) and got his autograph in about '74 which I still have today. I still remember how he was so interactive with people and smiling the whole time even as there was a crush of people around him. Long Live the #99.
