Dear Lynn and Pat,
I just received my Carolina alumni magazine, which contained notice of Tip's death. I am so very sorry for your loss. You know you that your mother was one of my favorite people---she was so very, very real and genuine--a true individual. And she and your father reared the three children to be unique, strong personalities. I remember Tip as such an interesting young man, and I have no doubt that he lived life to the fullest, until his disease restricted it. Please accept my sympathies regarding your loss of Tip, and please extend them to your neice, Olivia.

Am in disbelief and numb with the news. A long-time buddy who made me laugh and taught me a lot about life. Loved his whole family. I will miss Tip. He and his family will be in my prayers. Fair winds shipmate.
