It was with sadness that I stumbled across this entry, I had such fond memories of working with both Ed and Judy to create pictures of their exquisite collection of vehicles for Automobile Quarterly.
Such a gracious couple to meet and work with, I have thought about them many times in the past few years, and spoke to Ed not long after Judy passed.
May I extend my warmest condolences to all their family, may they be reunited and spend eternity in everlasting peace together. R.I.P.

Dear Kristin and Lori,

I go back and forth from Westmont and Tampa every 6 months for the last 15 years. I would see Ed from time to time when back in Oak Brook. We and you mother were my good friends as is your uncle Bob. I have known your parents for over 30 years. Both were truly the most kind, sincere, wonderful friends I have ever had. I spent sometime with Ed after Judy passed away. What a perfect marriage they had and loved each other deeply. I was a unaware of Eds passing. I was at a friend's house Christmas night and our discussion was about classic cars. I said my good friend has an amazing classic car collection. I asked if they have a tablet and I searched Ed and Judy's cars and the death notice appeared. I was stunned, and was so saddened I couldn't speak.I called Bob a few days later and spoke to him at some length. I will miss Ed as I have missed Judy. Just two of the most gracious fine people and my dear friends.

Words can not describe the sorrow I feel about his passing away..Ed was a great friend and incredibly respected & very knowledgeable in the car world. He attended many car functions I was @ and always drew a crowd when he did,be it with one of his cars or not.He was kind to all who knew him closely, and even those who weren't. I first met him in 1979,and still wish I had more time to spend with him.He was very well liked @ ButterField C.C.,and all across Illinois as well.
I will truly miss you Mr.Ed..R.I.P.

In life you only meet a few people who have an impact on your life. Ed was that. He was sincere and always had a smile. He adored his wife and family. I'm really going to miss him.

Dear Lori, Kristin, Bob and Family:

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Ed.
We have so many fond memories of time spent
with Ed and Judy, beginning with serving on the
Drake University Parents' Board, going to dinner
from time to time, and visiting them in their Naples
home. What a wonderful couple they were.

We have moved to AZ and, therefore, we will not be able to attend the services.

Our prayers are with the family in this most-difficult
time.

Dear Bob and Family,

I just found out today of Ed's passing. I'm very sorry for your loss. I enjoyed talking to Ed at work when possible. It was the best dealership I had worked at. It was the only dealership that everyone at least for myself got along with everyone. I enjoyed going to work and was sad it closed in 2009. I wasn't there long, but I will not forget Ed and the rest of my co-workers. Again I'm Sorry For Your Loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends.

Mr. Schoenthaler was a wonderful man. He was loved and liked by everyone who knew him. He was incredibly genuine, sincere, and modest for all his professional and personal success. He truly had one of the best marriages I have ever witnessed....and his marriage remains the stuff of legend among his peers and mine. The world is a better place because of Ed and his beautiful wife, Judy. Go in peace, Mr. Schoenthaler.

Lori and Kristin, I am so very sorry. I will never forget your wonderful parents.
