David LEPOLA Obituary

Cherished son of Lili and Bill Lepola. David passed away suddenly on Christmas Day, 2015 at age 51. Loving brother to Bill (Karen). Dearest uncle to Matt and Amanda. Loving partner of Kim Vajner. Survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a graduate of Deerfield High School and DeVry Techical Inst. Dave was adventurous and loved the outdoors. He camped, rafted, parasailed and zip-lined; but his special love was motorcycles. He traveled extensively and had plans to visit Thailand and Viet Nam next. Always an entrepreneur, he founded and managed a successful small business in Chicago. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. We will celebrate Dave's life at a Memorial Service to be held on Saturday January 16, 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 18N377 Galligan Rd., Dundee, IL 60118. Attendees are welcome to share their memories. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Memories and Condolences
for David LEPOLA

Not sure what to say?

January 29, 2016

I wish my deepest condolences to the Lepola family - his mother, father and brother. I knew David, like many others here, from grade school on as GUZZI, that kid on all those bikes! He was an amazing friend with a generous heart. His smile and love of life was contagious. He will be missed dearly. I'm so very grateful for the time we shared together. May the memories of him live on forever. RIP buddy.

I wish to give my condolences to David's Family. My name is Steve Mandell and I was a childhood friend of David's (GUZZI). He really was so instrumental to grow up with. I lived only a few houses away and I spent a lot of time at his house where I would create wood projects and ride bikes and co go carting in his backyard.. He had this massive skateboard ramp in his driveway and we watched Evil Knievel try and jump Black Canyon on the black and white TV in the basement. We would sneak tons of Graham Crackers and Peanut butter out of the Pantry and he taught me how to play bumper pool. He was unbeatable.. Maybe the highlight was David jumping his bike off of his manmade ramp over 6 garbage cans after watching Evil and he broke both Arms?? Or calming he was Bullet man the human Bullet and received 30 stitches in his eye for a game he was playing with spears. We went to different High Schools so we did not have that much contact after 8th grade, but when I needed money for Prom David and I discussed ways to make money. He came up with the idea to wash windows and we went down our block and I made $80 to pay for Prom. In fact washing windows helped me pay for College and Law School (so Thank You David). Trust me this is just a sampling. I will say this. I have 3 children and they all know his name from my constant memories. My parents still live in the same home and each and every time i drive down that street I look at the Lepola home with Fond memories. I have a feeling that I know the reason for his successful Graffiti removal business and I would share that only upon request, since I think it was formulated when he was 12-13, but it would be funny. David was one of a kind and helped shape who I am and sounded as if he really was such a positive influence and great person for others as well. Thank You David...GUZZI. Glad to hear you really achieved so much, traveled and were always fun to be around.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved son David. I had the opportunity to meet David several years ago in the U.P. and as we got to talking we found out we were cousins. What a great person he was, always smiling with an upbeat attitude. He will be truly missed by many.
My Mom Gloria Takala also sends her blessings your way during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing . He was a good friend and always made anyone and everyone feel welcome . Always had a great smile and laugh. We did a lot together thru the years >> camping trip with cousin Harry from farm house to trailer park. Touring the chi town area on bikes, and cruising the Chicago riverfront channel boating on a day trip with friends < just to name a few. He always had a smile and loved to be the entertainer. He filled his travel MAP up the best I have ever seen. He will be missed so very very much but never forgotten. My sympathy to his family ~

My DEEPEST sincere sympathy goes out to Lilli and Bill and their extended families. I've known Guzzi for 46 years. Kindergarten with Mrs. Simonitis to Graduation day from DHS. Guzzi called me EVERY Christmas eve to wish me a Happy Birthday. July 10th was his, and I missed it almost every year!!! Great friend I am!! Anyway, Guzzi taught me camp, ride a dirt bike, but most of all we LAUGHED...ALWAYS. We lived like 10-15 house away and were always at each others houses. I will miss my dear friend so much. May you be blessed with all the wonderful memories, he left with me. May your higher power get you through this sorrowful time and grant you with some very needed peace.
with love, Sieges.

Bill, Lil and family near and far. My deepest sympathy during ur time of mourning. Every time David walked into the room he made sure everyone had a smile, if u didn't watch out he was on the prowl to make sure ur frown turned upsidown. He enjoyed life as we all should. I'm happy to have known him and saddened that God had a plan for him, I'm sure he would of enjoyed one more ride on the dirt bike ;)
