Dwight Stocker Obituary


Dwight John Stocker, Age 63, a longtime resident of Naperville, IL, succumbed to complications following open heart surgery Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born June 26, 1944 in New York City, NY. Dwight is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (nee Ruchel) Stocker, his adored daughter, Alex Stocker, his brother Keith (Deborah) Stocker, a nephew, Keith Stocker, Jr. and niece, Gage Stocker Dobbins. Dwight grew up in Jackson Heights, NY, was educated at Fordham Prep, Fairfield University and graduated from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, Long Island, NY. Dwight was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was an exceptionally knowledgeable historian, particularly in the areas of the American Civil War and World War II. Dwight and his wife, Kathy, ran a real estate appraisal business, Appraisals Unlimited, for twenty years. Dwight was also a real estate broker and a residential realtor prior to opening the appraisal firm. A man of unfailing good cheer despite his many health problems, he had many friends and business associates who relied on his quick wit and astute advice. He was a member of the Naperville Jaycees and Rooster organizations for many years. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 10, 10:30 A.M. at St. Raphael Church, 1215 Modaff Rd., Naperville with Rev. Ted Weitzel officiating. Interment: Private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: American Diabetes Association, 30 N. Michigan Ave., Suite #2015, Chicago, IL 60602. Arrangements by Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, Naperville, IL.
