JOSE LOPEZ Obituary

Jose Isaias Lopez , aged 86, died in his studio apartment, Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 of natural causes. He was born 06 July, 1924 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Martin and Anita Govea Lopez. Jose was a long time resident of the Pilsen community in Chicago, Illinois and worked as a welder for a subsidiary of Midas Muffler's of America since 1967 to his retirement. He was a student and master player of billiards/pool of which he earned the nickname, El TIO. He was preceded in death by Alicia Aguilar Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas and wife of 45 years. Jose I. Lopez is survived by his three sons, Rene, Jose I. Jr., Carlos; seven grand children, Michelle, Rebecca, Jose I. III, Leon, Xochitl, Jasmine and Martika; brothers and sisters, Amelia, Modesto, Carmen, Severino, Nicholas. He is further survived by nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends. A memorial service for Jose I. Lopez will be held from 6 through 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at the Dorman-Dunn, Post 547 American Legion Post Hall located at 2129 Cermak, Chicago, Illinois.
