Jane and family: Words cannot express my sympathies for your loss. Kurt was a great person; kind and generous, with a great sense of humor. He was very proud of his "girls". I'll miss my chats with him and send you all my love.

Dear Family Please know what a wondeerful opportunity it was to share some thirty years with Kirk on the Youth Guidance Board. This is indeed a most painful experience for me and I am fully aware of the deep loss you are experiencing.Only time will lessen your pain but the wonderful person he was will always give you solace. His great smile will always be remembered and his dedication to the children in the Chicago Public Schools will never be forgotten. Kirk's committment to Youth Guidance was unmatched and I will always remember him for his thoughtfulness and dedication to others. We last spoke at the YG Gala where he was at his best. This is such an unexpected loss and I say to the family,How blessed you are to have had such a loving and caring distinguished husband and father.

I recently heard that Kurt passed away and I could not believe it. I worked with him for a few months while his secretary was on a medical leave at Winston & Strawn. He was always so pleasant, kind and helpful to work with. I am sending my sincere condolences to his wife and his children. He will definitely be missed by all.

Only last September 2011 did I meet him and shortly thereafter shared a Victories weekend with him in Wisconsin. Immediately I knew he was special and I needed him for a mentor. We spent some time together afterward but not nearly enough. Glad to have known you and will miss you.

Kurt was one of my seven classmates Hardey Prep 1959--and we continued on at Loyola Academy. Following our 50th Reunion in 2009, six of us gathered for several dinners to catch up on the past 50 years. It was great to learn about Kurt's wonderful life, his loving family, his career and his commitment to Victories of the Heart and Youth Guidance. Kurt was a bigger than life kind of man who, I just wish, I had known better over the years. We will miss you, Kurt, but thank you for touching our lives as you did. A man, based upon his good deeds in life, will be remembered forever in the hearts of his family and friends. My condolences to Jane and his loving family.

I had the privilege of being a receptionist on the 43 floor at Winston & Strawn. Kurt Schultz had an office on this floor and every morning he always greeted me with such kindness. Once I find out he was retiring I remember being in his office joking with him how I wish I could retire at 39 instead of having to work another 27 years. He laughed and said yeah, but then you will be old like me. I will truly miss him.

These are some wonderful tributes to Kurt - especially his laugh booming down the hall - I remember that laugh. I also remember the way he used to say to you before you were married "OK JANE, that is fine!"

My condolances to the Schultz family on their loss. I was a secretary at the Winston & Strawn firm from 1975 to 1997 and knew Kurt during all those years, tho never worked with him directly. Aside from his reputation as a fine trial attorney, I will always remember when Kurt would break out in a hearty laugh . . . it would bellow down the hallways!!! May your grief and sadness gradually diminish, leaving only the wonderful memories of a husband, father, family member and friend who always gave his best. God grant you peace, and envelope the soul of your dear one.

My deepest sympathies to you, Jane. I was a paralegal at Winston for many years and worked with Kurt and Greg Adamski. We all used to have drinks together at the Midday Club. I can hear his laughter now. Take care, you're in my prayers.

I had the privilege of working for Kurt Schultz for a brief period at the Winston & Strawn firm, just last year (2011), when I was assigned to provide secretarial assistance to him when he was in the office. It was such a pleasure to know him during that brief period. He was a very kind person, and I was privileged to know him and to provide assistance to him during this brief period.
