I am sorry for your loss. Like many who have written here, I worked with Barb ar Br. 42. She was a great teacher and I learned alot, back in the mid-80's. She helped shape many young attorneys and we were lucky to have the opportunity to learn from her.

I worked with Barb at Branch 42. By the time I arrived, she was already an institution. In some ways, she reminded me of my mother and there were days we argued like mother and daughter! But then we would wind up laughing about some little something and back to work we would go. I truly believe her motto had to have been "God is in the details" because we all know of her fanatical attention to details! Even though her knowledge and experience outstripped every one of us, she always referred to the other ASA's at Branch 42 as her "partners". Seems like a small detail, doesn't it? And yet, it wasn't. It was a constant reminder that we were a team, working toward a common goal. After leaving the Office, I never saw her again but I thought of her on countless occasions. I thought of her at work. I thought of her at Wimbledon time. I thought of her love of good music, good theater, and good film. I was an older ASA and I suspect that one of the reasons that she liked me was because I could share cultural references from years past. I thought of her fondness for Neiman Marcus and Starbucks. Every morning that I worked at Branch 42, I stopped at Starbucks for Barb. She did love her gingerbread latte! I missed her when I left but I have such fond memories of Barb-and some great stories. To borrow one of Barbara's favorite adjectives, she was "marvelous"! I will never forget her. May she rest in peace.

Still been reminiscing on all the wonderful times Rose, You, & all of us shared with YOU at Br 42, which will always be known as your courtroom, watching over Everyone there. Making sure justice was done to the best of YOUR Ability & you took it in stride when a few CPD guys tried telling YOU how to prep their cases ha ha ha.
Good times good laughs fond memories we'll always cherish & I'll remember how we always joked that your office was much too small & you how we needed to enlarge it & accommodate everybody
GOD BLESS YOU & BE TRULY HAPPY NOW

Barb was a true pioneer- she blazed the trail through Harvard to the State's Attorney's Office in times when much less was expected of a lady- I am thankful for her courage and I truly admired her sass!
She was always a joy to learn from and a pleasure to work with and she will always be remembered in the hallowed halls of 42
