Missing my mom everyday, needing her wisdom and advise and critical wit! So special to me and my children and yes, truly a pioneer and huge advocate for Reading. She would say today, we all need to read more and talk less.

She was a wonderful role model to many new librarians, including me. Always ready to accept a challenge and forge new paths. She lives on in the work of all the librarians she helped over the years.

To Amanda's Family -- My thoughts and prayers are with you, even as I realize how great it must have been to have had a mother, grandmother, etc., for a good, long life. She knew how to enjoy herself and others, as well as to work and to achieve. And I hope she knew, before her death, of Loretta's being selected as Academic Librarian of the Year by the Association of College and Research Libraries. Leave 'em proud!
