1934 - 2012

ERNEST (ERNIE) EDWARD ROBERTS Ernie Edward Roberts went to sleep on August 12, 2012 believing he would awaken when Jesus returns. Ernie battled with lung problems before he passed away. He was born June 16, 1934 in Strassel, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda, parents Sherwood and Adella Roberts, sisters Lucille Sherrard, Delta Mitchell, Betty Griffin, and a brother Richard Roberts. He is survived by brothers Mark Roberts of Chico and Roy Roberts of Vacaville, CA. Ernie is also survived by cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. Ernie had varied occupations in his life including ranch hand , owner of a service station, sawmill worker, owner and partner in the tire repair business, custodian for Chico Unified School District. His hobbies included stamp collecting, fishing, hunting, baseball card collecting, ceramic elephant collecting and gardening. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chico Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1877 Hooker Oak Avenue in Chico, CA on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to Holbrook Indian School worthy student fund in Holbrook, AZ. F.D. Sweet & Son in Willows, CA are handling the arrangements.
