Robert Bilby Obituary
Bob, is survived by his wife Sharon Waddington Bilby. Children, Robert Bilby (Rachel), Alison Bilby Martin (Bryce), Jason Bilby, Jonathan Bilby (Maggie), Rebecca Bilby (Quincy Sr.); siblings, Brenda Vannier (George) Decatur, Illinois. He is preceded by his parents, Robert E. Bilby Sr. and Donna Trainer Bilby.
He had nine grandchildren, Reese Bilby (Vale), Andrea Bilby, Andrew Bilby, Michelle Bilby, Trenton Bilby (Wrenda), Scarlett Martin, Madalyn Martin, Quincy Allen, Jr., Assyria Allen and two great-grandchildren Jayson and Amelia.
Bob Bilby was born November 23, 1949, in Decatur Illinois. He graduated from Eisenhower high school in Illinois in 1967. Shortly thereafter he moved to Florida where Bob joined the Marine Corps in 1970. His military career spanned 22 years, where he traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. After serving his country, Bob retired from the military and settled in Citrus County where he began a second career at the Crystal River Nuclear power plant and subsequently retired after 18 years. He was a member of Crystal River Church of God. Bob was active and enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and photography. After retirement he fulfilled his lifelong dream by completing a trip to Alaska in 2015.
A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, November 24, 2015, 11 am at Crystal River Church of God and the family will receive friends one hour prior (10 am-11 am) at the church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Robert's life. Arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home and Crematory, Crystal River.
