Ruth Ellen Brown, beloved wife of Frank G. Davis, loving mother of Marjorie Ellen Davis, Katherine G. (George) Gould of Brooklyn, NY, and Frank Brown (Michele) Davis, grandmother of Claude Davis Gould. Died Monday, January 9, 2012. Ruth was born October 11, 1918, the younger sister of the late Albert Brown. She grew up in Clifton, attended Hillsdale School and went on to graduate from Vassar College. She worked for many years for the Agency on Aging. She was a long time member of the Cincinnati Women's Club, a member of the board, including a term as president, of The Beechwood Home, and was active in the League of Women Voters and Hill and Dale Garden Club. Ruth enjoyed traveling with Frank, visiting Europe many times plus trips to Egypt and Russia. She loved the arts, particularly opera and Shakespeare; flowers, civics, and especially dogs. Memorial service at Norman Chapel, Spring Grove Cemetery, on Friday at 11 AM. Memorials may be directed to The Beechwood Home, 2140 Pogue Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45208 or the charity of your choice. Elden A. Good Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent through www.goodfuneralhome.com.
