Frank X. Homan, 85, passed away peacefully Saturday night, August 24, 2013, at his Port Royal home in Naples, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years and the love of his life, Margo Schott Homan. Frank was the family patriarch and is survived by 42 loving members. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 1,1928, Frank lived with his parents, Theodore J. and Matilda Kokenge Homan, and four brothers, Theodore J., Robert L., Daniel P., and Paul A. Homan all of whom preceded him in death. Frank was a devoted father to his six children, Frank X. Homan Jr. (Tish) of Naples; Walter "Chip" Homan (Laura), Margi H. Masters (John), Sophia H. Male (Chuck), Holly Homan-Witte and Christine A. Homan all of Cincinnati, OH. He is also survived by fourteen Grandchildren and thirteen Great-Grandchildren. Frank was a retired Automotive Entrepreneur and Real Estate Investor/ Developer. In 1956, he started his business career with Auto-Vehicle Parts Co., currently the largest manufacturer and supplier of Automotive Clips and Fasteners to the global Automotive aftermarket. He owned Auto-Vehicle Parts Co. for almost sixty years. Frank also enjoyed renovating large residential properties, which included the Vernon Manor Hotel, a Cincinnati Landmark and the River Terrace apartment complex. He was responsible for converting the first Cincinnati high-rise apartment complex, the Madison House into 175 luxury residential condominiums, in the 1970's and 1980's. Although Frank was blessed with many successful business ventures, he most enjoyed spending time traveling the world with family and friends on his yacht "NAMOH". Frank was a devoted Catholic, who started his day attending daily mass for over sixty years. He always credited God with his successes and good fortune. He and his wife, Margo, established The Homan Foundation in 1969. Since then, The Homan Foundation has contributed to charities and less fortunate individuals in the U.S. and around the world. Being an avid golfer, affectionately known as "Everyday", Frank's last major gift was the "Francis Xavier Homan Golf Complex", an indoor golf facility for Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. He will be remembered most for his love and devotion to family, his warm and contagious smile, great sense of humor, thoughtfulness and generosity to others. A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of his Life was held at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Naples Florida on Friday, August 30, 2013. Expressions of sympathy may be made to either the Frank X. Homan Scholarship Fund, c/o Summit Country Day School, 2161 Grandin Rd Cincinnati, Ohio 45208 or St. Ann's Tuition Assistance Fund, 475 Ninth Avenue South, Naples, Florida 34102.
