John "Jack", survived by wife Helen Reed Fix nee Herrink, father of Carol (Thomas) Brown, John (Carol) C. Fix, Jr., and Marian Fix, grandfather of Christine (Robert) Miller and Andrew (Vicky) Brown, and great-grandfather of Chloe and Luke Miller and Henry Brown, also survived by 4 step grandchildren, and 7 step great-grandchildren. Passed away on May 31, 2017 at the age of 98. A native of Lexington, VA, Mr. Fix graduated from Washington & Lee University and enlisted in the US Navy where he served four years in the Atlantic, Caribbean Oceans, Gulf of Mexico and ended his service in the South Pacific where he was the skipper of a Motor Torpedo Patrol (P.T.) Boat. After military service, he was employed by the Procter and Gamble Co. where he was involved in product development. He worked for the company for 37 years. Most of his time in retirement was devoted to creative projects and volunteer work such as 17 years at the Christ Hospital Cancer Center. A memorial service will be on Thursday, June 8th at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church, 1345 Grave Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45208, at 11AM and a reception to follow at the Deupree House, 3939 Erie Ave 45208. Memorials may be directed to The Good Samaritan Mission Fund, ERS or HPCUMC Music Fund.
