Charles Sprouse Obituary
Candler - Jonathan Charles Sprouse, age 70, passed away Tuesday, November 3. 2015 at Care Partner's Hospice Solace Center.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Zeb Wesley and Lillie Belle Odum Sprouse. Charles will be remembered for being a kind-hearted, generous man who adored his family. He never met a stranger and always placed others before himself.
He is survived by three daughters, Angela Woodring and her husband, Ray, of Candler, Janet Hollifield and her husband, Ronney, of Old Fort, and Mary Sprouse of Weaverville; two sisters, Mary Myers and her husband, Bert, of Oklahoma, and Ann Thomas of Candler; four brothers, Larry Sprouse and his wife, Ruth, of Georgia, James Odum and his wife, Doris, of Candler, Arnold Sprouse of Canton, and Terry Sprouse and his wife, Sharon, of Asheville; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Ronney Hollifield and Reverend Larry Hurst officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton. At other times, the family will be at the sister's residence, 30 Mervine Street in Candler.
