John Jakuboski Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 24, 2017.
John Howard Jakuboski, 50, of Glen Lyon, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at Birchwood Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved father of Caitlin Helen Jakuboski.

A true New Yorker, John was born and raised in Brooklyn by the late Eugene and Helen (Horn) Jakuboski. He attended William E. Grady CTE School and was previously employed by Verizon and Bell Atlantic Telephone Services in New York, N.Y., as a lineman.

As John was close to his siblings and father who resided in Northeastern Pennsylvania, he and his family decided to relocate in 2007.

John attended St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Wilkes-Barre.

John was a father to a beautiful and intelligent young woman, Caitlin Helen Jakuboski. He never knew the meaning of true love until he looked into her beautiful eyes on the day she was born. Though he had struggled with his demons in this life, John's heart was always with his daughter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline M. Gilmore.

John is survived by a beautiful family, including his daughter, Caitlin Helen, aka "Little Monkey"; stepson, Noah, and former wife, Kimberly McEntee, all of Shavertown; brother, Eugene Jakuboski and his wife, Jennah, Nanticoke; brother, Howard Jakuboski, Plymouth; godson, Keith Gilmore; nephews, James, John, Matthew and Geno; nieces, Ashley, Desiree, Erin, Corina, Breayana and Grace; multiple great-nieces and great-nephews; and mother- and father-in-law, Nancy and Patrick McEntee.

Funeral services for John will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday from the North Wilkes-Barre location of John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 N. Main St. Relatives and friends may join the Jakuboski family from 5 p.m. until the time of services for visitation and remembrances.

In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions in John's memory will be accepted at the funeral home.
