George Weitz Obituary

George H. Weitz, 50, of Bear Creek Township passed away Nov. 23, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family, after fighting a battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Bridgeport, Conn., on April 16, 1962. He was the son of the late George and Ida Weitz. He was a graduate of Coughlin High School and had ran his own excavation and construction business for the last 30 years. He was a hard-working man and loved to hunt and fish. George was very devoted to his family. He will be deeply missed and always in our hearts.

Surviving are a loving wife of 31 years, Sherry; a daughter, Sherry Weitz, Hanover Township; a son, George H. Weitz Jr. and his wife, Brittany, Bear Creek Township; two beautiful granddaughters, Kayla and Aubrey Weitz, who meant the world to him; a brother, Edward Weitz, Mount Cobb; a sister, Jennifer Mayhue, Bear Creek Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ida Appel.

A service to honor his life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3 First St., Spring Brook Township, and will be officiated by the Rev. Mark Stuenzi, pastor.

Friends may call from 5 to 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
