Raymond Bonk Obituary

Raymond E. Bonk of Boland Avenue, Hanover Township, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Mid-Valley Health Care, Peckville.

Born Jan. 14, 1930, in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Joseph and Julia Michalczyk Bonk, he was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School, Class of 1948.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict.

Ray formerly was employed by J.L. Tuner Mechanical Contractor, Hanover Township.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre, and Labor International Union Local 130 and 215.

He is survived by his son, James Bonk, Scranton; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Lucille T. Luby, in 1999.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre, at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at St. Aloysius Church, Barney Street, Wilkes-Barre.

Arrangements are by Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
