BM 2 RICHARD M. DAVIS
PIQUA — Boatswain Mate 2nd Class Richard M. "Richie" Davis, 26, of Piqua, died Monday December 15, 2014 in Annapolis, Md. He was born June 19, 1988, in Dayton.
Survivors include his grandparents, Tracy L. and Stella L. (Adkins) Davis of Piqua; his mother, Roseanna Highley of Dayton; two sisters, Ashley Highley of Dayton and Christine Johnson of Botkins; an uncle, Terry (Marie) Davis of Kettering; an aunt, Edie Adkins of Piqua; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Richie was a 2006 graduate of Piqua High School after which he enlisted in the United Sates Navy. Following Boot Camp he was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was deployed twice to the Country of Bahrain where he served honorably. Upon his return he was assigned to the Naval Station of Norfolk Virginia until he accepted a position at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland where he continued his active duty service to the military and his Country. He enjoyed being with people, fishing and hunting and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
A service to honor his life will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Bishop Brian T. Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the United States Navy and our local Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will be from 12-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Piqua Community Foundation, P. O. Box 226, Piqua, OH 45356.
