To George's family,

I met George through the New Beginnings Choir. We all have had a great time of fun and laughter together. One month George sang a solo called "This Old House." I can't describe how much I liked hearing him. Another time he sang "That Dear Old Dad of Mine," (I think that is the right name). I could visualize him with a hammer and nails and getting those old walls to stand up straight again. His solos were almost magical to me. With his impish smile and his great bursts of laughter he brought a special joy to those around him. Me too.

To the family of my dear friend,

Some you know me, and some of you not as good as others. I sat here tonight thought of some of the memories that I had with George.

The help that he gave me on Hendrix Acres. Meeting his two brothers that have gone before him. The laughes that we had and the fun that we had too. If I wanted to go somewhere over the week end, I would give him the keys to the park, I knew I could trust him. The night that air condition went out in the store. He was bring ice in to the store to keep the minnows alive. He would call me and give me a progress report. He tried so hard to make things right. He was special in that way. Going to Legion to help with bingo, and just to listen to the band. I didn't dance but George did. He could always find a partner to dance with too. Working on PWP stuff and meeting more people that he knew. When he came to Iowa to help me clean up a resort after a storm. Had a indoor swimming pool there and we both use it and he teased me about a girl that I knew there and I would talk to. Once I got out of the pool and stood over her as she sun bathed on the deck and dipped water on her. He would have a cute remark to say about that. She would give me a hug and he would say, "Go on Den." But then I would say, "Hey bud, I'm married" and he would say that makes you a good man. We had respect for each other. I needed to have multi surgeries when I was in Iowa City. Like I said, he drove all the way from AZ to see me in the hospital. What I like about that visit, we were going face whatever I had to face together. That made him special. Then he was there when I was released from the hospital. He followed us home, and I would have trouble not crying. He said it was alright. He helped me through some hard times. That made him special.

Or when we would go fishing. He would watch the pole but always want some else to reel in it in for him. He loved to watched the kids and grandchildren and the BBQ,s in his yard. He had time for them all. He was a father that made mistakes along the way but he also in the last few years had asked for forgiveness. I hope that all of you can find a speical spot in your heart to give him that forgiveness. He love you and eveyone he met the same. For that made him special.

One sits and thinks what is a true friend and a best friend are in ones life. I can sum up in two words and that would be, George Fultz. He was a special man and a very loved friend by many. He has touched my life and I will never forget him. For he was a truely special person in my life.

I just wanted to write a few of the memories that I thought of and smiled and cried about tonight. I could think of many more things to say, but most of all, just remember he was a SPEICAL PERSON AND HE HAS TOUCHED US ALL.

I was saddened to hear that I had lost another one of my Berryton High School classmates. Time has passed too swiftly but I have many fond memories of our teenage years. I vividly recall our last conversation at an alumni banquet. Virgil grew up nicely and seemed to have had a heart of gold. I'm sure he will be greatly missed by many. My sympathy goes out to the family and may God bless and comfort all of you.
