Charlotte Prockish Obituary

WESTMORELAND- Charlotte M. (Hunt) Prockish, 76, of Westmoreland, KS passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Wamego City Hospital. She was born March 4, 1934 in Twin Mounds, Kansas, south of Olsburg, on the family farm. Charlotte was the daughter of Charles and Emily (Robinson) Hunt. She married Vernon J. Prockish, in Westmoreland, he survives. Charlotte was a homemaker and also worked for nearly 20 years as a housekeeper and later as a supervisor of Hayward Hall, at Kansas State University and given the Classified Employee of the Year Award. Charlotte loved her family and enjoyed going to all of her kids and grandkids activities. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and animals. Charlotte is survived by her husband Vernon of the home; 2 sons: Joe Prockish (Nancy) and Tim Prockish (Anna); 2 daughters: Cindy Collins (Sam) and Lori Buss (Bob); 1 sister Janie Fern Hale; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers, Nile and Abe. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Burial will follow in Westmoreland City Cemetery. Charlotte will lie in-state at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home, where the casket will remain closed. Family will greet friends from 7:00- 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Charlotte Prockish Memorial Fund, which will be designated at a later date and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, Kansas 66547.
