Ada Atkins Stubbs

Ada Atkinson Stubbs, 89 died Friday, June 3, 2011 at Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Pickens Baptist Church with funeral services following at 4:00 pm, interment will be in Quiet Ridge Cemetery. Breeland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stubbs was a native of Pickens where she lived most of her life. She was a 1941 graduate of The University of Mississippi where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was a member of Pickens Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Stubbs, Sr.; daughter, Ada Jo Stubbs; grandsons, Clayton Stubbs and Sterling Penn; and her 7 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: sons, Howard Stubbs, Jr. (Sue Ellen) of Pickens and E. W. Stubbs (Kay) of Pickens; daughter, Mary Margaret Penn (Scott) of Canton; brother, E. W. Atkinson, Sr. (Betty Jean) of Memphis; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Pickens Baptist Church, 209 Yazoo St.; Pickens, MS.
