Dear Mr. and Mrs. Manning and Allen:
I sang with Dixie and Allen for many years in the Jackson Choral Society and we also served on the board together. Those were very happy years, and although I have not sung with the Choral Society for years, they are special memories. I am so sorry for your loss. Dixie was indeed a very special person of whom I thought so much.

My husband (Henry Laird) & I graduated from Council Manhattan in 1973 with Dixie. Our paths crossed again in the mid 90's when we joined St. Matthews UMC in Madison, MS. Also became friends with Allen when I joined the chancel choir. Dixie & Allen left St. Matthews a few years ago, but we would see them from time to time at weddings & other events. Dixie was very smart, very talented & a very sweet person. We will miss her dearly! We hope the love of family & friends will be of comfort to Dixie's parents & Allen.

I have had the oppuritunity to meet Ms. Dixie & found that she was a very sweet & nice lady. It was sad to hear of her passing, but I know that she is finally free from her pain. My heart aches for her family because it is never easy to lose some one you love dearly. May we all feel Gods touch in knowing that Ms Dixie has become one of his Angels.
