I see no pictures of Jack here, so I'll be uploading a couple, from the days when I knew him (our yearbook). I'll have to take the yearbook to work and scan a couple of pages.
While I'm at it, I'll share some memories of Jack, since I've had a few hours to convalesce.
(Don't tell anybody, but "Jack" in an answer to one of my "secret questions." I wish I knew him later in life.)
To contribute here and share some memories, I remember when Jack and I were in his garage on Roseberrybusy Cove. Actually I think maybe it was just Roseberry, or Rosebush, but I called it Roseberrybush. We disassembled a radio (I think it was). Maybe it was a junk HAM thing left-over, but I was uncomfortable taking it to pieces. Jack wasn't worried. Jack's dad was cool. He had a purple heart, which he didn't show, but Jack took me to the master bedroom and showed me, since he was proud of his dad.
Anyway, Jack's dad came home, and I was kinda scared -- destroying his electronic equipment where he was planning to park his car. Jack wasn't scared. Dad asked what we were doing. I was almost panicky, but Jack just replied, "We're taking apart this radio to see how it works." I imagine that's not a real direct quoat, but he said something like that.

I'm so sorry to learn that Jack is dead. I haven't seen him in more than thirty years, but he was my best friend when we were little. I thought I saw him in my dream a little while ago, so I thought I'd look him up, after I awoke. I'm really saddened by what I learned.

I'm a friend of Jack's from his Austin days. He was very giving of himself in every aspect of his life. Many have benefitted from his generosity. And with this sad news, I know that many have lost. I wish to express my condolences to his family.

I was just talking to my son about Jack the other day. Jack and I went to high school together. He was the smartest person I have ever met! I remember us sitting outside in my driveway and him explaning the constellations to me. Everyone loved him and he will be surely missed! My prayers are with the family.

I want to express my heartfelt sympathy to Ms. Pat and Graham. Jack was a blessing to everyone who knew him. Jack and I were friends since the second grade. He always had kind words and warm smiles. He managed to touch lives all over the world, but it is here we feel our greatest loss. I will miss him terribly. I am so sorry, and I pray the Lord's blessings will be with you.

I worked with Jack on a very high-profile and intense program at Motorola in the 1990s, and he was one of the most hard-working, intelligent, and considerate people I have ever worked with. The dedication he showed to his work and to his co-workers was something we all admired. In a fast-paced environment where major progress can often be made by taking big risks, Jack's opinion was sought by everyone when the tough decisions had to be made because he could see the problems and solutions more clearly than most. I will miss him very much, and offer my condolences to his family for their loss.

Jack was such a generous, loving and caring man...one of the most wonderful human beings I have ever known. He always helped others no matter what they needed or how big the sacrifice. I will miss him horribly and his many friends will miss him, too.

I was a friend of Jack's from his Texas stay, both before and after his France trip. I was also co inventor with Jack on one of his many patents.
Jack was a great friend with great mind. He had a very insightful way of analyzing problems, both technical and personal. While our perspectives on the world were different, that difference was not a problem as much as a gift. If I had a particularly sticky problem, he was always available to have a couple of glasses of scotch to help me unwind it. While we did not always succeed, things were always better for having tried. It was tough to watch him struggle over the last bit where, despite his great gifts, it seemed circumstances were conspiring to overwhelm him. I will always be grateful for having had the privilege of knowing him.
