Cele Carolyn Goldberg Lubin, 100, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2012. She is survived by her children, Gary Lubin (Sherri) and Andie Uiberall (Michael), her grandchildren, Justin Lubin (Sharon), Jason Lubin (Julie), Stacy Philip (Jim), Jill Shanker (Scott), and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sarah and Jacob Goldberg, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Lubin, and her grandson, Jay Uiberall, as well as her two brothers, Arthur Goldberg and Merrel Goldberg. A journalism graduate of the University of Iowa, she lived in Iowa City, Iowa, until 1973 when she moved to Memphis, Tennessee. She was a member of Beth Sholom Synagogue and Baron Hirsch Synagogue. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2012 at Baron Hirsch Cemetery, 1523 Rozelle. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jay Uiberall Legacy Fund, 1661 Aaron Brenner Drive, Suite 300, Memphis, Tennessee, 38120, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
