KEPRIS MELETIOU Obituary

Kepris Michael Meletiou Jr. July 24, 1978 - April 4, 2013 Resident of Concord It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful and loving warrior, Kepris, also known as "Bo", "Houston", "Pudding Head", "Red", "Little Bo Keep", "Mr. Meletiou" and "Keeper". Kepris was an outstanding personality born with vitality and strength. Though disabled by spina bifida and other ailments, he had an amazing zest to overcome and thrive. Kep was delivered in Berkeley, Calif and raised in San Pablo, later planting his chair in Concord. He graduated Pinole Valley High, Class of 1997 and continued his education at DVC. Kepris was a passionate guy who could be seen from miles away cruising in his San Jose Shark Green wheelchair with his flaming red hair, freckles, and classic round specks. He secretly wanted to be a lawyer or so you would have thought because of his love for Judge Judy. He was a huge Oakland A's fan often attending games with his cousin Jason. Kepris also liked to fish, sometimes even flying to Florida to cast off with his beloved grandfather Frank. Kepris loved movies, especially comedies! Despite his circumstances, Kepris loved the Lord. He attended church and was baptized. It was indeed a crowning moment in his life. Circled in his Bible is Romans 12:21-Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good! Kepris is survived by his adoring and dedicated mom Bonny, awesome stepdad John, beautiful sister Krista, father Kepris Sr., amazing Grandma Mickey, wonderful aunts Tina, Judy, Janie, Kelly, Geri, Kathy, Anna, Martha and Helen, uncles Tom Frank, Jim, Jerry, cousins Jason, Josh, Michelle, Garrett, Lucas and many many more family and friends. He also sadly leaves behind his family pets Sierra, Vinnie, Leo, Honey B, Chewy, Ellie Mae, and Kiki. Over his 34 years of passing through this life, many people have loved and guided him. We especially would like to thank his dialysis family at Fresenius in Walnut Creek. He loved the unit, its patients and staff. You were always so kind to him and we appeciate you whole heartedly. Thanks to his many doctors over the years who were instrumental in his continued good health. Lastly, a huge Thank You to the folks at California Grand Casino for their hospitality as Kep developed his passion for playing poker. Though a ravaging infection took his short lived life, his very special personality and perseverance lives on in our hearts. His presence and spirit will forever be missed. Have a safe and speedy journey home my Love, kisses and hugs to Grandma Bell, Grandpa Frank, Grandma Lodi, Don Juan, Speck and Casey. A Memorial Service is planned on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 2pm at Saint Bonaventure Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Concord, Ca (672-5800). All are welcome.

Like Mimi, I knew Kepris at Castro - we were classmates, and also rode the bus together. He was a great guy, and although it's been about 26 years since I really last talked to him, I think of him and those days a lot. I'll miss him.

I knew Kepris at Castro School for many years. He was such a sparkling character - life was never boring with Kepris around! I send my love and prayers to his family and friends. Mimi Deegan

Brother- I love you and I will forever miss you. Only mom and I really knew how your no's meant yes, your 'I hate you's' really meant "I love you.' I am thankful that I ended up moving back in for those few years. I ended up becoming close and I loved teasing you with candy and waking up to my coffee being in the garbage can because you hated the smell. I hope and pray that you are at peace and hopefully you pop in from time to time to say hi in some way. We love you!
