AGE: 74 • Medford
Michael A. Smithwick, 74, of Medford, NJ, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Michael resided in Medford since 1990. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a member of the Medford Lakes Country Club. Michael was the Chief Operating Officer at Drinker, Biddle & Reath in Philadelphia, PA. After he retired, he was a mediator at the Burlington County Court House.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Angela (nee Giuseffi) Smithwick; his children, Lori Hofacker of Stratford, NJ, and Lisa Celfo (Chris) of Cherry Hill, NJ, and Michael J. Smithwick (Jennifer) of Marlton, NJ; his sister, Julia Kidd; two brothers, James Smithwick (Samia), and Dennis Smithwick (Patty); seven grandchildren, Justin, Casey, Christian, Noah, Danny (Katie), Grace and Emma; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, April 24, 2017, from 9-11AM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. A memorial service will follow at 11AM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Michael's memory to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
