Eugene S. Bathurst, Jr.

AGE: 90 • Aiken, SC

Eugene S. Bathurst, Jr., 90, of Aiken, SC, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at his residence following an illness. Memorial services will be held at a later date at Laurel Hill Bible Church and are under the care of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Eugene & Mabel Powell Bathurst. Mr. Bathurst was a retired purchasing agent and a US Coast Guard WWII Veteran. He was a volunteer Fireman in Runnemede, NJ, and was a member of NJ State Exempt Fireman's Association. Mr. Bathurst was also an Elder at Laurel Hill Bible Church in Clementon, NJ, a Stephen Minister, active in NJ Prison Ministries and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for 16 years. He had lived in Runnemede, before moving to Aiken.

Surviving are his loving wife, Doris Pross Bathurst of Aiken; sons, Eugene Oliver Bathurst (Ruth) of Deptford, NJ, James Harold Bathurst (Mary Beth) of Woodbury, NJ, Brian Powell Bathurst (Kathy) of Gloucesterr, NJ; a daughter, Lenore Ruth Riley (Stephen) of Aiken; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Laurel Hill Bible Church, 1260 Blackwood-Clementon Rd. Clementon, NJ 08021. Expressions of sympathy for the Bathurst family may be left online at www.georgefuneralhomes.com
