I just meet Charles in the last 8 mos, I enjoyed my visits with him so much. He will be missed, but never forgotten. He loved his family and had nice memories he shared with me about his life, Purdue, and his wall of family pictures. Priceless memories of his life. I am so happy my husband had a chance to met him and share a few stories.

Holly and Scott,
My thoughts and Prayers are with you. I've been sitting here trying to think of what to write, and my mind wanders back to my "Bethel" days and what a great influence both your mom and dad had on my life. Youth fellowship at your house, the trips to who knows where, sitting down late one evening with your mom and dad somewhere in Wisconsin and having my first cup of coffee(I'm sure they both got a kick out of me that night).
They were wonderful caring people are will be greatly missed.
Thanks for sharing them, I'm a better person because of them.

Holly and Scott: As a former co-worker at Whirlpool and longtime friend of Charlie, it is hard to put into words how special a person he was. Always friendly, helpful and considerate of others, he was an absolute joy to be around. I consider it a great privilege to have known him and have many good memories. You had a very special dad. I am in Florida and unfortunately will be unable to attend the funeral. He will be missed by many. My sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Holly and Scott--so many memories of the fun times the Schwenker and Haag families spent together--Loie and Charlie were always so nice to all of us girls. I hadn't seen him lately--I recall the last time I did see him we had quite the lively discussion about Bobby Knight! Not many of the IH-Whirlpool gang left but they will always be remembered. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BRINGING CHARLES TO LIVE WITH US AT COVENTRY MNEADOWS IN FORT WAYNE. He was a joy to be around and will be missed by everyone. Trips to the casino, happy hours, his smile, and the fun he was to just sit and talk to. He inspired us so much. Thank you Charles for being our neighbor and friend. Rita L.Ybarra (The Hat Lady)

To me Charlie was such a delight to have conversation with--usually involving the Boilermakers or his income tax information. I looked forward to seeing Charlie and talking with him at every opportunity. Having been his CPA tax person for decades, I had the pleasure of learning much about his money affairs etc. It is my sincere hope that my words of sympathy will enhance the memories Holly and Scott have of their Dad......and also ease the thoughts of Charlie's companion of recent years Dottie Moore......Sincerely Don Burks
