Roy Smith Obituary

Roy V. "Pappy" Smith 75, of 512 West 6th Court; Livermore, Kentucky died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Owensboro. Roy Vinyard Smith was born February 6, 1936 in Island, Kentucky to the late Newman and Helen Ramburger Smith and was married to the former Linda Lou Hamilton on January 1, 1960. Roy retired as a diesel mechanic from Charles Chips in Calhoun and was a member of the Christ Gospel Church in Livermore. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and also enjoyed gardening and plying the lottery.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Smith; a son and his wife, Mark and Angie Smith of Livermore; a daughter and her husband, Melba and Jackson Abney of Livermore; two granddaughters, Samantha Smith and Mariah Smith; three sisters and their husbands, Dorothy and G.W. Davis, Connie and Marvin Howard both of Buttonsberry, and Janet and Donald Hedges of High Ridge, Missouri; four brothers and their wives, Chester and Nancy Smith of Owensboro, James Robert and Carol Smith of Iowa, George and Phyllis Smith of Livermore, and Donald and Margaret Smith of Sacramento; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Livermore with the Rev. Ronnie Dame officiating. Friends may visit with the Smith Family from 11:00 A.M. until 1:45 P.M. Sunday at Musters in Livermore.
