Richard A. Brown
Newburgh, Ind.
Richard A. Brown, 68, of Newburgh, Ind., went to be with The Lord Sunday, July 28, 2013. He was born January 3, 1945, in Saco, Maine.
He served in the U.S. Army for 8 years. Richard worked as an Accounts Manager for Superior Building Services, a supervisor for NTN in Columbus, Ind., and as a manager at McDonald's in Franklin, Ind. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ind., and was active in the Columbus Area Emmaus Community.
Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and a child of the One True God. He will be remembered for his hospitality and kindness to friends and strangers alike. His life was a true reflection of Christian love to all he came in contact with.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Josephine Wormwood; sisters, Trudy and Judy Wormwood; and brothers, Allen and Dale Wormwood.
Richard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karen; sons, Richard A. Brown II (Karen) and Grant A. Brown (Heather); daughters, Amy C. Northrop (Robert) and Emily L. Tingley (David); grandchildren, Arianna E. Northrop, Elizabeth L. Tingley, Samuel D. Tingley, Landon A. Brown, Cooper A. Brown; brothers, Donald Wormwood (Priscilla), David Wormwood, Robert Brown (Margaret), James Simpson, Bruce Simpson; and sisters, Gale Wormwood, Sharon Cline (Michael).
Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jeremy Edmondson, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ind., for "The NOEL Project," Resurgence Church in Evansville, Ind., or Deaconess Hospice.

I only met Richard once. But I live by his son Grant and wife Heather and his daughter Emily and her husband David and the grand kids Beth, Sam and Landon. I have to say that Mr Brown has quite a legacy! I wonderful family doesn't just happen by accident. Praying for you all in your time of loss. But we all know we will see Mr Brown again .... in Heaven!
