Frank O'Neill Obituary

O'NEILL Frank O'Neill, 92 of Milford, husband of Elizabeth O'Neill, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011 at Milford Hospital. Born on January 22, 1919 in Seymour, he was the son of the late Hubert and Anna McEvoy O'Neill. Frank proudly served his country under the leadership of General George Patton in the Army during WWII, after which he worked for Sikorsky Aircraft as a Union Steward for 37 years before retiring in 1984. He was a past president of the St. Mary Holy Name Society and also of the Sikorsky Retiree Club teamster local 1150. Frank was a member of the American Legion 127, the Milford Senior Center and the Milford Little League. In addition to his wife "Betty" of 62 years, Frank is survived by his four children, Frank O'Neill, Jr. and his significant other, Sharon Cappetta of Milford, Martin O'Neill and his wife Karen of Milford, Michael O'Neill and his wife Janice of NJ and Sheila Daniel and her husband Jerry of Milford; his brother, Hubert "Hugh" O'Neill of MA; and his sister Kathleen Murphy of NJ. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Sura. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10:30AM at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf Street, Milford, CT. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Milford. Friends and family may call on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Milford Hospital Hospice Fund, 281 Seaside Avenue, Milford, CT 06460 or to the Dorothy Adler Geriatric Assessment Center 874 Howard Avenue, New Haven, CT 06520 www.codywhitefuneralservice.com.
