Roger and Beverly, Joan, and families, I'm so glad I had a chance to stop by and see Howard a couple falls ago as Roger and Beverly were harvesting corn and he was "riding along" to see the fruits of not only that Fall, but many Falls through the years. So sorry for your loss, but also thankful for knowing him and and your mother growing up. Thoughts and prayers your way. Marlin Fay

I really enjoyed Howard's obituary - very touching and I learned a lot! How wonderful that he wrote it himself. Howard and Harriet were indeed much loved leaders in the Somonauk United Presbyterian Church community and they touched many lives. My thoughts are with you Roger and all family and friends.

Howard attended my mother's 107th birthday party in Aurora. They were cousins. My mother, Gladys Mason, was born a Larson and was proud of it. She loved communicating with Howard, especially in their later years. She thought he was a special man and I wish I had known him better. How blessed his family and friends were to have been a part of this man's life.

Roger, Bev, and Miss Jolee, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. He seemed to be a very nice gentleman and wrote a very nice obituary for himself. Remember that he is now with our Lord and his beloved. Jolee is a very sweet and happy young lady and I'm sure they treasured their time together.

This obituary encompasses all that Howie is and was - kind, soft-spoken, simplistic, and a man who loved farming as much as he loved his family. Im eternally grateful for having your presence in my life - we sure do need more people like you in this world. Enjoy harvesting the fields of heaven

I never knew Howard, but he was an A. O. Smith Harvestore customer of my father's in the 1960's. I remember my father speaking very highly of Howard, after meetings with him on Howard's farm. His personal obituary reflects Howard's love of family, farming, and a great sense of humor; a wonderful memory for all who did know and loved him.
