MARSHA ODE Obituary

Marsha Lynn (Becker) Ode, 32, of Sandwich, Ill., passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at home after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born on Jan. 7, 1976 at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora.
She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a city letter carrier in Naperville.
Despite her illness, Marsha traveled extensively with her husband and children. Even as her cancer progressed in her last weeks, she continued going to the Sandwich Fair and the Field Museum with her family. It was also her wish to tell young women that if a lump is discovered, to have it checked out by your family doctor immediately. During her struggle with breast cancer, Marsha always had high spirits and was an inspiration to the people who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Ode; sons, Gerald and Johnathon Ode; parents, Richard and Marlene Becker; brother, Craig (Pam) Becker; sisters, Brenda (Andrew) Denovellis and Janice (Robert) Sherwood; father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Patricia Collins; sisters-in-law, Andrea (fiancé, Aaron Leman) Ode, Erin (fiancé, Michael Castelvetre) Ode and Meghan Ode; brother-in-law, Christopher Ode, along with several nieces and nephews, Christopher, Amber and Cathryn Becker, Sarah Denovellis, Brittany and Bradley Sherwood and Elizabeth Stewart.
Marsha was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Cathryn Kellett; and paternal grandparents, Edward and Gladys Becker.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Drive, Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Marsha's name to help support breast cancer research or her children's college fund.
