Lynn M. Parrott, 87, of Farmington, died on Friday, June 24, 2011. He was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Salida, Colo., to Clarence and Clara Parrott.
He lived in the South Park area, Buena Vista and Hotchkiss, Colo.
He served several years in the Army in the early 1940s.
He married his beloved wife, Jean, on Sept. 30, 1948, in Crawford, Colo. They moved to Farmington in 1950. He worked at various jobs before working Schlumberger, a job he held for 14 years. He worked for 19 years at the Post Office, where he retired.
He liked gardening, rock hounding and people. He never met a stranger, he talked to everybody. He was a member of the San Juan County Gem and Mineral Society.
He is survived by Jean, his wife of 60-plus years; his children, Barbara Williamson, Kenneth (Juli) Parrott, Sherry Parrott and Gary (Anita) Parrott; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today, June 28, at Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
The family wishes to thank the people from Guardian Angel Home Health for taking care of Dad this past year, and to PMS Northwest NM Hospice for the last three weeks of care and visits. You are great people.
