Charles R. Lintner, 68, of West Frankfort, Illinois passed away at 12:58 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

He was born July 24, 1945 in Jacksonville, Florida to Charles D. and Louise (Cunningham) Lintner.

Charles married Sandra Barton on March 27, 1965 and she survives.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church- West Frankfort serving on the church board, treasurer, and parish treasurer, taught all levels of Sunday School; member of the Rotary Club of West Frankfort; member of EASA; former president of Old King Coal Chapter; began his lifelong career at Sandners Electric in 1961 and manager since 1984. He has been the co-owner since 2010.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Sue Lintner of West Frankfort; son, David (Brigette) Lintner of Orient; daughters: Michelle (Clay)Thompson; Kristi (Mike) Arview all of West Frankfort; Alane Lintner of Atlanta, Georgia; Karen (Chris) Clark of Anna; 14 grandchildren; Mikayla, Hannah, and Josh Melvin; Lori (Shannon) Parks; Joni Holtz; Sage Lintner; Emily, Ethan, and Alli Arview; Jenna, Megan, and Adam Clark; Dawson Lintner; Brianna Swann; 3 great-grandchildren: Levi and Emma Parks; Cody HoltzSisters: Bryan Ann Mandrell of West Frankfort; Mary Kay (Rick) Nix of Benton; brother-in-law, Larry (Jackie) Barton of Plumfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, Illinois with Rev. Penelope Barber and Rev. Sue Cox officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be at Denning Cemetery on the Orient Road.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes will be available and accepted at the funeral home.
