Jim . . . Just now saw the news about Carla. It's hard to believe. she was so much fun to be around..She and you were so generous and helpful to me ... I will miss her . . . . I know you will miss her . . . sorry I'm so late in extending my sympathy but living on the east coast has it's disadvantages as far a getting news goes. Hope we can get together next time I'm in California. miss ya..

Dear Jim,
Bob, Nicole and I met Carla shortly after you began your life together. Carla was fun then and all through the years we have known her. When Carla gave Nicole her own stuffed animal, Merlyn, she didn't know then, but she eventually found out, she made a friend for life. Nicole is 30 now and still has Merlyn on her bed and will forever have Carla in her heart.
Jim, you were the love of Carla's life, and you made her happy. I hope all the laughter you two shared, and there was a lot of laughter, will comfort you.
