Dolores Zeal Obituary

April 8, 1927 - November 25, 2010

Dolores Jean Zeal, known as "Mickey", a 4-year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2010 in Torrance. Born in Faulkton, SD, Mickey was 83 when she died. She was a member of St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church in Redondo Beach. Mickey was educated and worked as an elementary school teacher and a licensed central supply technician. As the staff at El Retiro Library can attest, Mickey was a voracious reader. She loved all animals but toothless Tango was her favorite. Mickey was a rabid Rockies fan who watched every game and cried at losses. Mickey is survived by her son, Steven Zeal of Lakewood, CO; sister, Mary (Wayne) Burke of Torrance, CA; and brother, Bernard (Lynn) McKenna of Lindsay, Ont., Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bridget and Francis McKenna; siblings Kathleen, Josephine, Francis, and Constance; and her husband of 56 years, Earl Zeal. The service will be held at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church in the chapel, Redondo Beach, CA on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 10 a.m. Private interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Life Charities at Saint Lawrence Martyr. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
