Patricia Ellen Burich

1926 - 2010

September 26, 2010. Pat was a lifetime resident of San Pedro and attended Dana Junior High School and San Pedro High School. In 1943, Pat married John Burich, the love of her life, and they were married for 61 years. John's career as a commercialfisherman allowed them to travel extensively, most notably to Ghana, Africa where they lived for 4 years. "Old Grama", as she was affectionately known to her great-grandkids had a beautiful singing voice, was an amazing cook and baker, a talented seamstress and enjoyed entertaining family and friends over the years. In her 50s, Pat decided to enter the working world and became a waitress at the San Pedro Fish Market where she worked for many years. She loved her job there as it allowed her to see her friends on a daily basis and gave her the opportunity to meet new people each day. Above all, she was a wonderful and loving grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, John, Jr.; infant son, Jimmy; and son-in-law, Bob Rollins. Pat is survived by her daughter, Judy Rollins; granddaughter, Robyn Miller and her husband, Kenny; grandson, Bobby Rollins and his wife, Julie; sister, Carol Pedersen; and brother, Les DeMott. Also missing "Old Grama" are her 6 great-grandkids, Maddie, Kenny and Jack Miller and Finley, Tanner and Grey Rollins. We would like to extend special thanks to the Little Sisters of the Poor and their staff for the loving and compassionate care given to Pat over the last 6 years and especially in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 2100 South Western Avenue, San Pedro, CA 90732. Visitation will be held at McNerney's Mortuary on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held Monday, October 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Little Sisters of the Poor, 2100 South Western Avenue, San Pedro, CA 90732.
