Roberto Ulloa

1919 - 2010

Roberto Ulloa passed away on October 8, 2010. He was born in Mexico on October 9, 1919. He immigrated to the United States in 1944 and worked as a tailor in Los Angeles for a few years. He married our beloved mother Lupe Villarreal (d.1997) in 1948, settled in the South Bay and raised a family of 11 children. They are both predeceased by our siblings, Lourdes (d.1970) and Oscar (d.1983). Roberto is survived by his children, Bob (Maribel) Ulloa, Gloria (Cirenio) Rodriguez, Eva (Greg) Montoya, Anita (Stephen) Ulloa-McDonald, Daniel Ulloa, Eddie Ulloa, Teresa (Primo) Ulloa-Solis, Lawrence Ulloa, Irene Ulloa; 23 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Roberto was a machinist for over 30 years. He became a citizen of the United States in 1985 and was very proud of this achievement. After retirement, he enjoyed various activities, such as: watching the news, reading historical books, weekend drives and waving to his neighbors. His favorite treat on Saturday's was when his granddaughter Olivia brought over his #32 chicken mole burrito lunch order from Diana's restaurant.
