As the leader of The Who tribute band "the substitutes" I would like to speak on behalf of my band. Laura was a big time Who Fan and I certainly realized that when I first saw her at the Walnut room watching our band play up close and to the side of the stage. It made me real happy to see her there because I noticed she was singing along all the words to every song, even the more obscure material that we do. She was very enthusiastic and generous and bought us all drinks. We knew we had truly found a fan of The Who and hopefully a fan of our band as well which I believe she was since she seemed to have come to every show she could. Last year at leftapaloza our guitar player smashed his guitar at the end of the show and she asked if she could have the remains. I believe she had it signed by every member of the band. To feel that fan-ship and appreciation was very special for us. It was so awesome to experience that kind of enthusiasm towards our efforts. None of us knew her very well but she always seemed very kind, very gentle and passionate about The Who. Her presence at our shows will be extremely missed. Especially now as we will be covering the whole Tommy album. We intend to dedicate our whole show to her coming up in April on the 22nd at the Little Bear in Evergreen (4-8pm). This will be our debut of the Tommy album. Much love from us to Tim and all family members and friends. She was too young and too needed to be gone this quickly. Please feel free to post or write any comments on our Facebook page (the substitutes). We are going to post something soon for her memory. Thankyou Laura for your wonderful support! People like you make it all worth our while. Hope you are having an Amazing Journey- Biggest Love, -Pete, Brian, Chris, Ryan and Dave.

What an amazing person Laura was and what a remarkable life she had. I feel so lucky to have known her. I knew that she was a special person the day I met her in High School and the day she surprised me on the Boulder Mall way back when, when she decided to move West. She was always a very positive and upbeat person and will cherish my memories of her always. Rest in Peace my friend!

Laura is, in my mind, one of the best fighters for Cannabis and people's rights. She helped me understand some of the nuances of a trial and contributed to my win. We may have clashed on our views, but I am thankful for learning from someone who really knew how to stand for her truths!
