Lloyd Lund Obituary

Lloyd W. Lund (Lunny) KINGSTON- Lloyd W. Lund (Lunny) 95, born to Agnes and Nelson Lund in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Aug. 2, 1917, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013. “Lunny” served in Europe during World War II as a lieutenant in the Army Corp of Engineers, and while on leave on Jan. 17, 1943 married Dorothy Houst (Dottie) who predeceased him in 2002. Lloyd and Dorothy were longtime residents of Woodstock, where they owned and operated Dot's Ice Cream Shop, Lund Ready Mix Concrete, and Lund Real Estate. In 1979 they retired, moved to a farm in Waldoboro Maine, and shared a wonderful retirement in “Vacationland”. Lloyd was an avid fisherman and frequented Newboro, Ontario where he experienced some of the finest bass fishing in North America over a fifty-year period. Lloyd is survived by his three sons L. Allen Lund of Kingston, Glenn Lund and wife Judy of Cincinnati, Ohio and Niles Lund of Waldoboro, Maine. Lloyd is preceded by his brother Allen Lund and survived by his sister Anita VanVoorhis. Grand children include: Kimberly Lund Pawlowski, Ryan Lund, David Lund, Deborah Lund Talmage, Erin Homer, Erica Digel, and Erik Lund. Great grandchildren include: Hannah Pawlowski, Jacob Pawlowski, Gavin Lund, Justin Lund, Paden Homer, Karsten Homer, Andie Homer, Colin Digel, Bryne Digel, and many nieces and nephews. The family will hold a private service at a later date. Cremation and memorial arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue Kingston, New York www.jvleahyfh.com. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to Hospice of Kingston.
