HOWARD BORCHARDT

Howard Borchardt, 63, died March 2, 2011, at Albany Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was the son of the late William H. Borchardt Sr. and Anna Vitello Borchardt. Howard was born in Schenectady on March 20, 1947, and a county resident his entire life. He graduated Mont Pleasant High School's class of 1966, and was married at the former Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Rotterdam on October 24, 1992. He and his wife lived in the Bellevue section for a number of years before moving out to Rotterdam Junction in 2008. Howard worked for over 32 years for the City of Schenectady in sanitation, leaving the department in 1995. He was a 30-year member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Lodge 2586, in Saratoga Springs. He was also predeceased by his sister, Wilda Palmo. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Albany Medical Center for their wonderful care of Howard. Survivors, wife, Paula (nee: DiSorbo) Borchardt; brother, William H. Borchardt Jr. and his wife, Chris of New Bern, NC; sister, Fran Lazinski and her husband, Richard of Schenectady, and several cherished nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday morning 9 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville. Calling hours Saturday at the church preceding the Mass from 8 to 9. Interment St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
