BRUCE IPSEN Obituary

TOWER LAKES - Bruce Allen Ipsen of Tower Lakes, age 63, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014. Bruce was born on June 29, 1951 in Chicago to Roy and Rose Ipsen and grew up in Arlington Heights. He started Ipsen Decorating when he was 21-years-old, which he operated for over thirty years. Bruce is survived by his wife, Jacquie (nee Cernik) Ipsen; his daughters, Dawn (John) Lodewyck, Michelle (Wes) Schreiber, and Laurie Ipsen (Cristopher De Phillips); his grandchildren, Cody, Mason, Julia, and Chase Schreiber; his sister and brother, Donna Jonas and Gary (Pam) Ipsen; and the many other family and friends whose lives he touched. "I often wondered why I'm here, Then I make something pretty, or fix something, or make someone happy, or make someone laugh, or help someone who needs help - THEN, my question is answered" - Bruce A. Ipsen Bruce was a good man, friend, and proud father who loved life, gathering with friends and family, laughing, and most importantly, making others laugh. His unique humor, remarkable charm, and amazing artistic talent were a constant source of joy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tower Lakes Community Foundation www.tower-lakes.org/make-donations or Animal House Shelter, www.animalhouseshelter.com, where Bruce adopted his beloved Sammy Boy. My memories of Bruce are few, it has been so many years. He was a few years older than me, but one thing that stands out was his friendly way and persona.
He was always very polite and a very nice guy.
Rest in Peace Bruce.

So sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. I lived on Mulberry Lane down the street and was introduced to Bruce by Carl Shaffer. I worked for Bruce the summer of '76 while home from college. I learned a lot from him and really enjoyed working for him a having a beer with him. So sorry for your loss.
