Cleve and I became friends after a chance meeting at Steppenwolf - we were both avid theater goers. When I learned he lived in Glen Ellyn, I asked if his dad had by any chance been Marv and his mom Dorothy - bingo! Our dads had been close friends as boys and my dad's favorite New Year's Eve was spent in the Carney Bakery. Cleve and I laughed about this a lot over the years. We saw each other at various theaters as well as luncheons at The Arts Club of Chicago. He was a lovely, interesting and generous man; he will be missed
