John Mleczko Obituary

John Mleczko of Algonquin A funeral Mass for John Mleczko, 92, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Algonquin. Born May 20, 1911, in Poland, the son of Teotil and Helen Mleczko, he passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at his home. Burial will be in St. John's Nepomucene Cemetery, Fox River Grove. Mr. Mleczko came to the United States in 1949. He served in the Polish Army during World War II, and was a prisoner of war for 5½ years. He served as an M.P. for the United States in Germany from 1945 to 1949. Before retiring, Mr. Mleczko was a tool and die maker. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin. Surviving are his wife, Ludmila, whom he married Aug. 15, 1959; daughters, Mary (David) Philipps of Algonquin and Krystine Mleczko of Los Angeles; son, John Mleczko of San Jose; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Timothy Philipps; and his sister, Maria Mleczko of Poland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Stefania; and brothers, Stanislaw and Wladyslaw. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin.
