It´s been 10 years and I still haven´t processed the deep grief and sadness I feel about my mom mom Rex´s passing. She wasn´t my biological mother, but she was the mother the lord gave me. What a blessing she was to me and my family. I miss you dearly, and have your hand writing on my ribs next to my heart. Keeping you close to me always. I miss her laugh and trips to the dollar store. I miss just about everything, especially the snack pack pudding cups you´d keep in the fridge for me because you knew I loved them. I miss the hugs at the door and the excitement of feeding the squirrels peanuts in the backyard. I miss burning my legs on the metal slide in the backyard. Somehow all my pictures of us have gone missing, except one beautiful photo of her in the kitchen. Thank you for saving my dad and for saving me. I became the adult I am today because of her kindness and love. I hope that you´re proud of me mom mom! I try to embody your spirit on a daily basis. I love you more than anything and miss you dearly every day. We might not have been biologically related, but you were the mother god knew I needed and I am eternally grateful to have been blessed by you. Until we meet again, my number one supporter and favorite person.
With love, always, Cheyenne Price.

I was a foster child of Betty. My name is Carey and I miss her very much. I loved my mother's kindness and also her good advice.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Betty, but she took care of both of our children before they were adopted into our family. I have lovingly prepared notes that she passed on to us about each of their needs and personalities, and she even sent a truck for our son when our daughter came home to us. We understand that our daughter was the last foster child in her care, and I sincerely hope that the days with my infant daughter were happy days for both of them. Please take comfort in the knowledge that she touched many children and their families with her kindness and that she will be fondly remembered by many.

Dear Rex family,
I met Betty and Tom 22 years ago as a young worker at CYS. What amazing people! Years later after Tom had passed I remember Betty sitting me down on her couch and showing me photo albums of every child that had ever come through her door. She had nothing but kind words to say about them all! What a wonderful mother! I was so sad to hear she passed away but then a coworker reminded me that now she is with her beloved Tom. I'm sure she's wrapping her arms around every little baby in Heaven and making sure they are ok. What a legacy she has left behind. Thinking of you all and hoping your memories help you find comfort during this very difficult time.
With my deepest sympathies,
Karen Kilson
