My deepest condolences to the Murray family. Tom came from a great family and mentored me as a youngster through my Folcroft Boys club years.

Eternal rest grant unto him dear Lord and prayers to his family.

Tom mentored me as I began a career in journalism. He was always willing to go the extra mile. He was a warm person in what was otherwise a cold corporation. A true newsman

All of us at United Way of Chester County are heart broken at the news of Tom Murray's passing. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Daily Local News team. Tom was a good friend to the community and also committed to advocating for Chester County neighbors in need. We were overwhelmed by Tom's support this past winter as his energy, expertise, and enthusiasm were the driving force behind our Share the Warmth Program and helping hundreds of local residents. In an industry where breaking news is king, Tom made sure there was a place at the table for everyone and that the paper reflected those diverse voices. He was a good man and will truly be missed- our condolences to his friends, family, and extended DLN family.

I am very sorry to hear of this sad news regarding Tom. I meet this very friendly man around 2002 as he was an Ardmore Rotarian. He wrote many stories in the Main Line Life Newspaper encouraging others in our community to assist us in our many humanitarian service projects especially during hurricane Katrina and Rotary International's efforts to eradicate polio around the world.
He was a great friend to many of us and a highly respected Editor.

Played basketball with Tom and his brothers in the Folcroft Men's League, and then coached against him while he was with the Drexel Hill Raiders. To his brothers and sons, I would say Tom epitomized competitive spirit, tough-mindedness, and fair play. When coaching, it was always about the kids under his leadership, not just wins and losses. I will remember him as a good man.

So very sorry to hear this. I didn't know Tom well but knew him to be a good man, always fair in a world where fairness was often missing. I feel blessed to have known him.

To the Murray family I extend my sincere condolences. I got to know Tom through Anthony while playing Sunday softball and can honestly say there wasn't a better person on our team. He had a passion for the game and honestly tried his best to teach everyone around him. The world lost a good one.

I've been saying for years that everything happens for a reason and recently that belief has been reinforced. A few days ago my brother in law died of a heart attack and it prompted me to do something I wouldn't normally do. From this I now have opened a line of communication with a daughter who I haven't spoke with in years, the misunderstandings are being cleared up and there's love between us again. I put this story out there in hopes it will help someone to have faith and keep hope alive.
You will never know the good you have done Tom Murray. Rest Easy Brother ❤

Never will you meet a man who was as dedicated to family, sports and profession as Tom Murray. The world lost a rare man but I am certain he and Diane are proudly looking over their grown boys and grand-baby Braelyn...together again. ox

I only had the pleasure of working with Tom for a short stint at the Delaware County Daily Times, but during that period, I was struck by two things --- his pride of family and of his work. Despite the great demands of his job, he still cared about details and quality. His loss will be felt greatly by the local newspaper community.
