Philip F. Murphy

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, March 10th, in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham for Mr. Philip F. Murphy of Waltham. Burial followed in Belmont Cemetery in Belmont. Mr. Murphy died Friday March 4, 2011 in the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford. He was 76. Philip was born in Malden on June 23, 1934 and had lived in Waltham for over fifty years. Until his retirement, he had worked for twenty- eight years as a mechanic for Delta Air Lines. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending many winters in Freeport, Bahamas. Philip also served in the United States Army. Philip was the husband of the late Patricia M. (Greelish) Murphy who died September 27, 2010. He leaves his son, Joseph P. Murphy and his wife, Katie, of Fairfield, California; two brothers, John Murphy and his wife, Roberta of Malden, and James Murphy and his wife, Kay of Naples Florida; his brother-in-law, Joseph Greelish of Bedford and several nieces and nephews.
